Default BB Desktop USB Sync is Resetting Time Zone to "Einwetok"

Please Login to Remove!

I have a Pearl that is doing something strange. When I sync the handheld to Outlook via the USB cable and the Blackberry Desktop Manager the sync makes the proper changes/additions to the calendar and address book. However, during the sync the time zone in the hand held unit changes to the Einwetok time zone. Current time and the call history is changed and shown in terms of Einwetok. Calendar entries are shown in the wrong time slots. To fix I go through the Setup Wizard --> Time and Date and reset to Eastern time zone and everything corrects - calendar entries are now shown in the correct slots.

This is more annoying that anything. How do I get it to sync using the USB cable without having it change the time zone???

Key Data - this is a red Pearl obtained though AT&T (Cingular). I am no longer attached to a MS Exchange server, though I was at my former employer. I did not sync via the cable when I was attached to the server. I run Outlook XP on my laptop. Thanks

With your BB connected via USB, in your Desktop Manager, select Sync.

In the pop-up window, you should see three checkboxes, one of them reading "Update device time/date auotmatically" or something like that. Uncheck it.
