Hello Everyone!

One of my first posts here and I'm sorry if this has been asked. I tried searching and couldnt find anything on it. I have the pearl through Verizon and tend to have very good coverage with it. However when I travel to my grandfather's house it tries to lock onto the unusable Verizon tower instead of the stronger US Cellular tower. I have gone in and programmed the home SID to the USCC one and set the phone to home only. Only problem is it still reads off the PRL and wont change towers.

I've tried calling Verizon they wont tell me how to do it and even offered to let me out of contract if I could prove I lived there. I dont want out of contract as Verizon is the only carrier that works at my house. I used to be able to do this with my eyes closed on the LG phones but now I'm at a loss. Do you all know of any way to get the phone to switch over or am I just stuck?
