Default Curve doesn't turn on? Battery Contacts?

Please Login to Remove!

So I received a 8300 from a friend. He said that it wouldn't turn on. So I had a look at it last night...
~Put in the battery and the red light goes on then off.

~I plug in the power to mini usb charger and the red light comes on, goes though its hour glass process/service provider logo then shuts off.

~I figured it was a battery problem maybe, so I played with it (pushing the battery down harder for a better contact and the red light goes on then powers up. I let go and it turns off.

~Added some electrical tape to make that solid contact and it worked for a good 1-2 hrs.

~I tired to put in my SIM card and now it doesn't work again.

Sooo im guessing if I replace the battery contacts it should be fine?
I also tried using the loader to wipe out the old OS and start new, but it usually shuts down. Now i'm stuck with the 507 error?

Welcome to the forums!

Before looking at replacing the contacts, try using a different (new) battery.

Well I figured it out. It was the battery contacts. Opened up the phone, took out the battery contact piece and bent each pin just alittle bit so it would make better contact with the phone. Put together to phone, inserted the battery and it turned on with no problems.
It made sense because the slightest movement cut off power and went in a reset loop (not enough contact).
