a few days ago, the google map app worked flawlessly.

now i get:

"Error starting gmaps8100_v4_1_L1: Module 'net_rim_ecmascript' not found"

this could have happened when i was trying to install the now futile bbweather.

any suggestions or advice? thank you all!

Its possible. What OS are you using? If it is 4.5 there are a number of older apps that tend to not work well. BBweather may be one of them.

i believe my OS is 4.2, assuming i'm looking at the right information source (where do i go fr that i went to options; advanced; applications)
the strange thing is, i do what google tells me from the site but it never leads to the actual application. is there any way to install it using the desktop manager?

p.s. i heard that bbweather was just no longer supported..pity

If you go to OPTION>>>>ABOUT, it will tell you the version number you have. It sounds as if you have v 4.2 but double check. (you also may wish to consider upgrading to 4.5. Just follow the instructions in 8100 OS sticky).

As far as OTA installation, do you have a data plan? This would be required to OTA any application.

I honestly don't know if Google Maps has a DM install version, but searching their site on a PC internet/web access would tell you fairly quickly.

Acutally, BBWeather works quite well on OS 4.5 and 4.2. If you haven't upgraded BBWeather in a while you'll need to as it had to be rewritten when Weather.com changed their weather access a few months ago.
