I see nothing wrong with a "2" as long as it fixes what was wrong with "1"

Throwing away designs that people like rather than just updating and improving them also seems an equally good way to ruin your company though, its about striking a balance between completely new designs or form factors (storm, pearl flip) or updates to existing ones (bold, curve 8900)

I totally agree...but when it comes to the OS, they need to look at it from square 1 when moving to a touchscreen device. I think the storm is pretty cool but the OS feels like it is just forced into the phone. There is nothing in it that feels natural with the touch screen like the iphone or pre.

I am just so surpised that they haven't released a real OS "upgrade" or rebuild to properly market and complete their touchscreen product.

Lets hope that they do have something cooking for the storm 2. Not just crappy OS 5.0 or some flavor.

I think you are being rather harsh on the storm, there are obviously some things it can do better, but to label it as unnatural or incomplete ignores stuff it does very well.

Your criticisms also somewhat miss the point that any touchscreen blackberry should still be familiar and appealing to existing customers that want a touchscreen and not be purely to attract new customers.
