Unhappy Cannot Switch Device

Please Login to Remove!

I found a blackberry 8330 phone about 6 months ago, I've posted adds all around town stating that I found this phone and was looking to return it to the original owner. After about 6 months of no replies or any information, I decided to see if I could activate it, I have a contract with Telus, and the phone i found happened to be with Telus, So, i went to the "switch device" option, and entered the phones pin etc, and I got an error message saying that this phone was already in use. I am not sure what to do, I don't want to call Telus and tell them about the phone, I don't want to get in trouble for trying to activate it or be blamed for stealing it. I thought maybe someone here could help me out. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks in advance!

This is cuz the device is registered to someone. If the other owner reported it lost/stolen, you got yourself a paperweight

"Help you out" how? Are you trying to use the phone you found? You won't get much help from this forum on activating a "found" device.

Take it to a Telus store and tell them you found it. Perhaps they can trace the PIN/IMEI to the original owner and return it.
