Hefty Orange data roamimg charges!!!!!

Just been hit by massive bill after trip to Oz. Wasnt aware of need to disable before I went. Am furious that Orange don't cap usage or even send any warnings of excessive usage. Anyone else had this problem? Any ideas for reducing the bill??
