Are you missing the silver latch? Locate on the bottom back of the phone between the gold battery contacts? It's chrome. The button should press down and spring back up. It moves a small catch that is level with the inset for the door. If this is missing or broken you will need to replace. Here is a link for the part from another post"

If you get a gel case for the phone you wont have to worry about the cover falling off...it will hold it nicely in place.

Lol.. this was annoying to me as well.

Mine ended up mostly being the actual back cover itself was bad and all the little prongs and things to keep it in place were smaller than they should have been..
But everyone above is right, I usually just have my gel skin on my phone now and it holds it in place...

I was expecting to warranty it out because it was annoying me how easily it came off (didn't FALL off, but you didn't have to press hard or press the silver latch) I ended up getting a back off a returned pearl from a tmobile store, and it helped a lot... it still does it though. So I've learned just to use cases...

I guess it's a somewhat common thing with the pearls... At least the 8100s, I'm not sure if it's been fixed in the 10s 20s or 30s...

There's a lot of websites people here will give (I don't know them so someone else please say them )
I've always just been a big fan of going to my local cell company's store and buying cases there... (Being under 18 with no card keeps me off the internet purchasing lol) They do seem to be usually cheaper on the web than in stores though.

Check out ebay...and seidio seems to be another popular site too.

i had a similar but different problem...my battery door was always very loose. I slipped a couple of sized pieces of paper in there and it provided enough resistance to hold against the latches. a moot point now that i have a seidio case, but it was pretty annoying when I didn't have it.

I lost mine today Boy, that replacement part is expensive. I may just use a small piece of tape to lock the battery door in place.

Lost my latch and blackberry offered to repair for $190...how gracious. Luckily had an old pearl that I drowned in a pool, so I stole the latch from it. The door was still a bit loose so I wedged a small piece of paper underneath the latch to raise it up and catch the door. Seems to have worked perfectly.

This is probably my biggest complaint with the Pearl 8130! It seems to be made REALLY cheaply and it's not very sturdy at all.

It's very frustrating to be emailing or texting and the back cover shifts around while you're gripping it. Mine never comes off, but it is not seated on the phone very well.

The problem is eliminated with a skin, however, you can't use the holster with a skin. So, if you like the holster like I do, it's a pain in the ass to take the skin on/off whenever you take it in/out of the holster. It just doesn't feel right to slide the phone into my pocket without any kind of protection (holster).

I got a seidio rubberized case with the associated holster. It wasnt cheap but solved my battery door problem, my holster problem, and because it is rubberized, i can throw it on my dash and it doesn't fly around when I am driving.

I am sure there are other cases out there too, with holsters. And no, i am not associated with seidio
