I am trying to move the tasks and memo pad icons from the Tools and Accessories folder onto the main menu. My theme is Vodafone Today (i am with vodafone australia) any ideas

You can't do that from the BlackBerry. You'd need to actually build a Theme that put them where you want them.

I haven't used a theme that puts those icons in a sub folder for a while (I hate that too!), but I THINK that if you have Dial from Home Screen to No, you'll enable the shortcut keys to go directly into native apps. Then, to get to Tasks, you can simply tap the T key and D for Memo Pad. The shortcut key for an app is underlined in its name if it's available. Here's what I have:

• Address Book
• Browser
• Memo Pad
• Profiles
• Google Talk (only 3rd party app I know of that has this!)
• Help
• Lock
• Calendar
• Messages
• BlackBerry Messenger
• Options
• Alarm
• Search
• Tasks
• Enterprise Messenger (Q)
• Calculator

This is for a full QUERTY keyboard. It doesn't look like this is available for reduced keyboard devices (71xx, 81xx). There's no option to disable dialing from the Home screen on my 8100 simulator.

Jerry and others,

The BB 8800 is supposed to have a shortcut that if you press the mute buttom when not on a call, the keypad locks. However, when i do this the BB goes into stanby mode. Do you know anything about this and what is stanby mode?

All the messenger clients (BB Messenger, Yahoo, Google Talk, AIM, MSN) have this functionality because they are RIM produced and not third party
