I got a small stake of RIM years ago too, still holding at similiar big gain. I braved the NTP scariness for years without skittering into a sell. Finally I did sell one-third recently to diversify the portfolio, but with RIM eventually becoming one of the Big Ones (Nokia, Motorola, SonyEriccson), with simultaneous release of clamshells, touchscreens, suretypes, and traditional BlackBerry models, I really think the rich valuation of this stock can still become a bargain again next year or two, so definitely not time to liquidate... But at the same time, it's a little rich already to buy a large stake now. Thus, pretty much a HOLD rating for me merely because of valuation concerns.
Wish I got tons more of it though: It's not much of a position, not enough to buy a sports car or economy car anyway -- I can't really touch it now because it's in the government-registered retirement fund. (RRSP, roughly the Canadian version of an IRA/pension fund)
