Default Media Player not seeing all the music on Micro SD Card.

Please Login to Remove!

I've recently got 4 GB PNY Micro SDHC card for my 8830 (running 4.2.2.176), so I was able to transfer all my music to my BlackBerry. So I still have a bit more then a Gig free on my SDHC card and I did have the "encrypt media files" option enabled.

So what happened was I was just playing some music from BlackBerry and looking threw some of my Bon Jovi CD's and as I would looking threw the list I kinda noticed it only listed about 12 CD's and I realized I was missing quite a few songs (I've got 20 Bon Jovi CD's with 300+ Songs). So I went back and "explored" the Media Card and I found the CD's listed in their (I have them organized into folders ont he SDHC card) so what I did is a disabled the encryption on the media files and did a battery pull and now the Media Player shows all my songs.

So the issue is resolved but I was just wondering if this is something you guys have seen before, I am going to re-enabled the media file encryption and see what happens.

I've had this happen. Usually a battery pull will force the media player to scan for the songs again.

Yea, looks a battery pull fixes it.

I went ahead and re-enabled "encrypt media files" went into the media player and none of my music showed up. Maybe I didn't give enought time or 4 GB is too much for the encryption.

O well it isn't too important, they are just songs a few ringtones and pictures.

The missing files thing has happened to me as well. Glad it was as simple as pulling the battery to clean it up. I have not played with encrypting the files.
Thanks for the help.

I have experienced this problem also since upgrading to v4.2.2.196
(Platform 3.0.0.84) on my 8830. Neither changing encryption or battery pull fixed the problem. Any other ways to correct this?
