Yes, it does. However, it depends on if your carrier supports it. I know TMobile does and you can simply install the latest version of Desktop Manager to utilize the feature.

That FAQ is outdated. The new Desktop Manager has an easy setup for IP Modem configuration now.

No, on your PC go to http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop/ and download and install the latest version of Desktop Manager.

I have asked several times about helping with the FAQ, but no one seems to respond.

double click on the file you downloaded (If you are using Windows Vista right click on the file and select "Run as Administrator.) If it asks to install Roxio Media Manager or Media Sync, just uncheck or select no.
After the installation is complete plug in your phone via the usb cable and open desktop manager. You should see an option for IP Modem.

"Radio on" means turn on the mobile network in Manage connections on the BB.
If you have wifi, why would you use the BB to tether? You don't need bluetooth on.

TMobile US doesn't require anything extra. It should work. If it doesn't, give them a call. They support it.

Wirelessly posted (Blackberry Pearl)
Worked good for me, using 8120, and TMO.
Thanks for the info.

No IP Modem Option in Dersktop AManager 5.0!
I have version 5.0.1 Desktop Manager installed and there is no IP Modem option to select even though there are instructions for IP Modem in help there is no IP Modem to click on when opening Desktop Manager. Anyone know what's up with that? Do I need an older version of Desktop Manager or re-install it with Media Manager included? I currently have it installed without media manager and don't see why Media Manager would be needed for the IP Modem option to appear and work.
