Default bluetooth comptability problem

i just purchased an unlocked blackberry 8100 from e-bay (i'm an AT&T customer). the phone works fine except that i can't transfer ringtones and/or pictures from my old phone nor can i transfer ringtones and/or pictures from my friends phones.(they are all AT&T customers also) when i try to do it my phone says service not supported. when i bought the phone they said that it was compatable with AT&T. can anyone help me or do i have to send the phone back?

You're trying to use bt to transfer stuff from your old ATT phone to your new ATT phone? If so you have to have purchased a second phone number/service contract for the new phone. Did you? You can't use bt without a data contract I don't think.

Bluetooth actually has nothing to do with the data. It's a feature built into the phone that is its own entity. You have to pair the phones with each other first. Then on the phone that is receiving you have to go into the media player and hit the menu and click receive using bluetooth. Then send it with the other phone.
