Default syncing calendar with outlook 2007

Please Login to Remove!

I just got a new Blackberry Curve 8330 from Verizon and installed the Desktop Manager software that came in the box on my computer. I was able to sync my address book fine, but my calendar keeps getting stuck on item #931. Even if I set my calendar to only sync future events it goes back and gets everything I've had in my outlook for the past 4 years. I tried uninstalling the software and reinstalling, but still had no luck.

Any ideas?

Sounds like your calendar events might be corrupt.

Are you able to narrow down which calendar events are causing the problem?

What OS is your PC (XP, 2000, Vista?) and what version is Desktop Manager?

I'm using windows xp and desktop manager version 4.3.0.17. Seems like it almost always gets stuck on calendar event #931 -- how can I figure out which event that actually is?

I was having the exact problem. Everything would sync except my calenders.

I solved the problem. lets see if I can remember.

options>advanced options>service books>if you scroll down you will see your email address followed by CMIME and another label .... leave the CMIME delete the other one(s) .

I forget exactly what the label is since I deleted them. They were directing the sync to sync the calenders with the email address and causing the app to close.

I removed the email address that wasn't followed by CMIME and the calendar got past even 931, but now i get an unknown error reported on event 932.

Also, even though I've asked it to only give me the calendar events in the next 14 days, it's going back and getting all 1620 records that have been in my calendar for the past 4 years?

There should be a setting on DM to sync only future events. It sounds like you may have a corrupted calender appointment.

yeah, i think i may. How can I find out which calendar appointment is #932? Also, I set it to sync only future events (and then tried only the next 14 days) in the DM, but its still going to get all 1620.

Is there a setting on Outlook which allows you to delete past calender events?

i need to keep my past events in outlook -- i just don't want them to be coming onto my blackberry. Why is it that when I go into the synchronization configuration and ask that only the next 1 or 14 days be sync'ed with my phone the phone tries to go back and sync everything?

DM 4.3 is know to be a bit unstable. I recommend that you use either 4.2 SP2/SP3 or one of the newer versions such as 4. or 4.5.

Uninstall the current version and delete all the entries in the BB calendar (as long as your Outlook ans the most current data) and then install DM, configure it and sync again.
