Default 8GB memory card ....

Please Login to Remove!

....works fine on my 8100 with the latest firmware (.55), but my PC which has an internal card slot for SD cards wont accept it. Any thoughts? I wanted to be able to load music on there quicker than via the usual Roxio route.
thx in advance.

Wirelessly posted (Verizon 8830)

Maybe I am old school. I don't like to pull the card in and out even on my wife's pearl.
I guess you can try an external media card reader.

same here. I prefer connecting the BB to the PC and dragging files onto the SD card.

Default BlackBerry MediaSync

I use Blackberry MediaSync with my 8110 and a 4gb card. I think it only works with iTunes, but is much faster than Roxio OR a card slot on the PC. Just a thought....

I tried to sync several playlists from PC to BB via mediasync - more convenient (less crashes) - but MUCH slower IMO then a direct card insert into the PC.

FYI - I discovered with >4GB SDHC cards you need to download/install an windows XP patch (if that's what you're running - this is the problem) to allow it to be recognized by XP.

Here's the link:

Some Secure Digital (SD) cards do not work correctly on Windows XP-based computers

Sorry above is the KB description.. this is the download site for those that just want to get the patch (FYI - you'll need to go through the dreaded windows validation..)

Download details: Update for Windows XP (KB934428)

Hope that helps.

most PCs now has only internal SD card reader which DOES NOT SUPPORT SDHC.

Get an external reader.

Case closed.

I have a 8gig as well, but if you check the box on your BB to turn on "mass media storage" you can then find your BB as a new drive in "my computer". You then have full access to the data.

If you use the XP patch - it should recognize the 8 GB SDHC card - I have a Dell 1210 laptop with built-in media card readers - didn't recognize the 8G card until that patch was installed - seems to be a function of OS NOT the laptop.
