Hi. I just tried an ota download -- per this link that the 8830 is "Supported but not for sale." On my 8830 it gave me this message: "Sorry, Skype mobile is not available for your phone. Switch to one of Verizon's best selling BlackBerry and Android 3G smartphones."

I'm running OS v4.5.0.127 (platform 3.4.0.2.0). Not the absolute latest, but within 4.5. Any ideas why it won't work?

Has anyone gotten it to work on an 8830?

Are you running on a BES?

I posted this in another thread, but I will repost here.

I found that if you are on a BES you will need to change your default browser from the Blackberry Browser to the Internet Browser.

Once I did that I tried the skype.com/vzw address and I think I refreshed the page once and it gave me a download link.
