Default sprint to ATT no 3G??

Please Login to Remove!

I swear I searched for this first! Couldn't find anything, so if it's been answered, please direct me . . . or simply answer if you're so inclined.

I bought a Blackberry Tour from Sprint (set in CDMA of course) and shortly thereafter changed my carrier to ATT. So, I slipped in the SIM and set it to GSM. No problem getting BB email working, connecting to the network, etc. However, I only have an EDGE connection. What's the reason for this? How can I fix this??

Sprint and AT&T run on different 3G frequencies.

The Tour only supports UMTS 2100, which is prevalent in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. AT&T uses UMTS 850/1900, which is not supported on the Tour.

Yep. EDGE is the best you'll get using a Tour on AT&T. World Phones like the Tour are designed to run on CDMA in North America and to roam on GSM in Europe/Asia/Etc. It was never designed to be used on North American GSM. If you're going to stick with AT&T you should sell the Tour and buy the Bold 9700.
