Default Buy 8100 or 8800?

Please Login to Remove!

My wife currently has a 7100t. She likes it, the form factor, the Suretype keyboard, etc. No problems... but the 7100t is getting old and the screen is getting weird (due to a dunk in the toilet 2 years ago--but it lasted THIS long!).
Anyway, the biggest downside to the 7100t is the lack of being able to view the screen well in the outdoors.

Does the 8100 have the same problem viewing outdoors?

So, I am looking to upgrade her device to either the 8100 or 8800. She has no need for all the multimedia of the 8800, she has an ipod with all the music she'll ever need. She does like the camera on the 8100, she never has a camera when she needs one (I know its only 1.3 megapixal...).

Question, if the camera were not the deciding factor, which of the 8100 or 8800 would you recommend? Any larger issues that I am overlooking?

I have the 8100 now and love it! No problems here viewing it outdoors as it adjusts the backlight automatically...

If she likes the smaller form factor then she will love the 8100....

The only real difference between the 8800 and the 8100 is the form factor and built in GPS in the 8800 and camera in the Pearl. If she likes the form factor of the 7100t then she will love the Pearl. The biggest complaint of the 7100t was the dim screen in sunlight. So much so that they came out with the 7105t just a short time later. The 8100 has a very bright screen that can be seen outside easily. it sounds like the Pearl would be the right device for her.
