Download 4.5 DM and use the switch device wizard.... (easy)

Sorry, I read incorrectly and thought you were switching devices.
Yes, your right and correct.
You do not need to use the switch wizard to upgrade the device.
But you do need to make a backup.
The 4.5 DM will back up automatically but I do a backup before using this feature. The wizard will complete the backup and migrate all data during the upgrade.
By completing a separate backup, it give me some options if the wizard does not complete the process or there is an issue later.

Actually the SDW can be part of the backup process. You shouldn't need it but I recommend doing the following just as "just in case something goes wrong" procedure.
