I've got a couple of 8100 but they haven't got spell check on them.
Is there anyway to get it?...is it included in the newer versions of handheld software?

These are on T-Mobile UK and 4.5 isn't available for them yet as far as I know.
Is there a third party add-on instead?

You can upgrade to 4.5 as per the sticky above. The OS is carrier independent and will work on any 8100. Just follow the instructions carfully.

As for 3rd party apps, LexSpell is excellent and only costs $10.

Right at the top of this thread. "latest 8100 OS". In there are the complete instructions about upgrading.
