Just heard from a vodafone rep that the storm would be coming out mid-december in Australia.. Has anyone else heard that too?

I thought it was going to come out mid-November?

Well you never can be sure about release dates. I do know there are some Storms already in Australia for Vodafone staff to check out, but for public release I'm still hoping for November. No doubt ebay will be selling them soon, but I would rather buy a Storm made for the Australian market and on a plan.

I was excited- then I saw that only Vodafone have it on a model life exclusive basis. Thats a joke- they have probably the worst coverage in Australia. RIM made a big mistake tying it up

Is there another model coming that won't be exclusive?

Depends on your point of view - the Storm will only work on 3G @ 2100Mhz, which means very limited coverage at 3G speeds. Hutchison 3, Vodafone and Optus will will have coverage, but Telstra's 3G operates @ 850mhz. Telstra have some towers with Hutchison 3 in Metro areas, but once you're out of Metro coverage all you will have is GSM coverage.

Hi all I was on the phone to Vodaphone asking about the release date for the storm and was told the 1st of December. It came thru to the lady on her comp while i was talking to her, So it must be soon?
