Default Mobile version of a website

Is there a way to prevent the Storm's browser from automatically loading the mobile version of a website? For example, when I go to either macworld.com or yahoo.com, the browser automatically loads the mobile version when I want the "original" version loaded.

Not really sure. But, you could always download opera mini for your blackberry. It is a free browser and will give you the regular website. Lots of us use it and it works well.

If you change your Browser type to FIREFOX or IE, it'd do the trick

Is either Firefox or IE any faster than the default browser?

This doesn't affect the speed of the browser directly. All this does is change the identification (or user agent) that your browser sends to a website. Therefore, when you have Firefox enabled, the website thinks you're viewing it from a full version of Firefox and gives you the full page.

If anything, switching to Firefox or IE will make your browsing seem slower on sites that you've previously been getting a mobile version for because it's going to load the whole site now, not the mobile version.

I personally prefer the mobile sites when they are available. They load super fast, don't normally have as many advertisements and give me the data I need at a glance. Heck, the wap forums here work incredibly well on the storm.

I too prefer wap and mobile versions of websites because they load faster and look better on the small screens of BB's. Regular websites have a lot of graphics and you have to zoom in to read the text and be able to select the hyperlinks on the Storm.

I've been wondering if there was a mobile version of this site. I tried m.blackberyforums.com and mobile.blackberryforums.com with no luck. I had totally forgotten about wap.blackberryforums.com and just remembered thanks to you guy!
