Coverage is not available when hunting in the forest, all connection are off as well, Bluetooth and WiFi. While my Bold is still looking for a Connection, I sent off a Blackberry Messenger Message to one of my friend who is about 2 to 5 miles away and he received it. He then sent me another message back. Before I sent a message to my friend, I didn't know there is no coverage. We both have Bold. So I thought there has to be a connection back there, so I retraced my route and stand where I first send the message and still no coverage. I sent him another message asking him if he has a coverage. He too was surprised he doesn't have coverage but was able to get BBM to pass through.

I wasn't able to send to anyone else except to my friend who was about 2 to 5 miles away.

I was baffled by this, but does the Bold have the Mesh Network technology built-in or is it a different kind of technology? Anyone else have, had this occurrence?

No it does not. It only has these radios:

850/900/1800/1900 GSM/GPRS/EDGE
850/1900/2100 UMTS/HSDPA
2.4 GHz Bluetooth
2.4 GHz 802.11 WLAN

Did the BBM go through immediately, or was there a delay? I'm thinking the message went into que, and when you briefly stumbled onto a tiny pocket of cell coverage it squirted the message out.

There is no connection whatsoever, anywhere. Not even in the camp site has coverage.
