ok i was wondering if when i get a new message if a box or something will pop up saying i have a message. i was just wondering because my old phone could do that and i just miss the convenience of that instead of going to messages and the selecting the message

Check aftermarket sofware. There are a few progs that do that. Maybe someone else can list them.
