I plugged in my phone to Desktop Manager and began to update the firmware. However, about halfway into the installation process, it froze. There was nothing I could do except restart my computer, so I did.

Now, when I turn on the phone, it's just a white screen with some text that says

Blackberry Platform 2.7.0.90
Address Book
Alarm
Calculator
(and so on..)

The apps don't work, anyway. When I plug in the phone now, Desktop Manager doesn't detect the phone.

Is there any way I can do a hard restart on the phone? Or am I SOL and need a new phone?

Try again, but don't use DM this time. Use Loader.exe.

If you installed the OS on your PC, it should be located in c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader
