Are you indoors, or outdoors?

gps working inside is a crap shoot, depending on the building. My S2 worked fine if I got near a window and sometimes would work in the central part of the house. Don't expect it to work inside of buildings and you'll be fine.

Under Advanced Options/GPS check to see if Location aiding is turned on... this helps a lot when you're indoors... not going to do much in underground situation, but most times it does the trick... Haven't played with a Storm2 yet... but I can't imagine the SiRF chipset being any different.
