Initially my problem was that my bbm was keeping my contacts pending, so I eventually deleted it and decided to just reinstall the bbm to my device..after finally downloading bb desktop manager, my pearl 8100 now refuses to be recognised by the desktop manager or by the computer in general. When I connect the phone to the computer it just charges for about 4 seconds and then it stops. It does not appear as a mass storage device on the computer let alone be detected by my desktop manager. PLZ HELP!

Try a different usb port. Don't use a hub or port on a keyboard. Try a port on the back of the computer if you are using a desktop.



You might also do a battery pull (hard reset) on the device.

I've tried all that. It's not working and it's really frustrating!
