Default Pearl 8100 Problems.

Please Login to Remove!

I recently purchased a Blackberry pearl 8100 from T-mobile. I have had thje sim card replaces twice already, tried to choose a network manually and often soft reset due to my problem. My problem is this, although there is great coverage in my area my phone doesn't seem to want to connect to it or stay connected unless I'm already in a call or using it as a modem. As soon as I hang up I lose service until I soft reset and sometimes that doesn't even work. There was one day that I had service all day no matter what and that was all. I've called T-Mobile over this and they basically tell me they have no idea. I did buy the Blackberry Refurbished and everything else is perfect with it. Maybe an antenna issue? I even updated to the latest firmware last night with no luck.

My phone was conficated by the FBI about a month ago in a raid of my home. Since then I have had problems with my phone. T-mobile claims that nothing that they could have done to my phoen or are doing can effect me in anyway.

Do you have a warrenty? If so get new one. If not, I'd buy a used one. Mabie someone here knows what's wrong,
There's a good chance someone does.

Default Well.

Let's just put it this way. Everything electronic that I owned including thumb drives, monitors, computers, hard drives, laptops were seized based on the Patriot Act. Let's just say it wasn't a fun time and I'm out on 50,000 cash bail no 10% or bond. I can't really say much about the case itself. But it will probably set a very dangerous precident for law enforcment officials.

Default Yea

I'm glad to see it's not just me. Maybe it's a bad lot of 8100's. Something els eI noticed is that right before the signal is lost the signal seems to boost up to a perfect signal. The little EDGE data arrow starts blinking as if its sending data but it never recieves it back then I lose signal. My data services are on.

Sorry to hear that. Hard for me to relate living in Canada, but I can imagine the fear and frustration this would cause.

I was messing around iwth it and found out something else. I currently use it for a modem for my computer. Which is the only time it wants to fully work. About 30 seconds after I unplug it from my computer the signal goes up to full bars and then it just loses network connection.

Well, I'm just getting warranty replacement on the phone because t-mobile had never heard of anything like this before. I went through sim card replacement, hard resets, soft resets, sim card switching and just about everything else. So they're sending me one out and I don't even have to pay for the shipping. T-mobile is okay in my book.
