I have read many of the posts on BlackBerry and Bluetooth connections, but can't find solution to my problem. I have an Audi A4 Avant 2007. The car hasn't changed, but I have upgraded from a BB 7290 to an 8800 some time ago.
The problem is that the Audi dialing voice command directory is not compatible to my new BB 8800. It was working fine with my BB 7290. On the Audi A4 system, you can record voice activated numbers and names. When using a name, but number should be passed to the BB device, and the number dialed. That worked fine on the BB 7290, but on the BB 8800, it interprets the command received as a redial sequence. The last number dialed is always used. The problem IS WITH THE BB SOFTWARE. I have v 4.2.1.101.
Other differences:
- The phone list downloaded to the car includes all numbers for each contact used, not just the number last used. Using the BB 7290, the Audi only listed the numbers I had used. With the BB 8800, even if I never use the Office or Home number of my contact, 3 entries are downloaded (Mobile, Home, Work). It makes it harder to nagivate.
- Sometimes, when the BB is activated to dial a number from the Audi, I hear a very loud beep from the BB 8800 connection. I have to lower the volume first, and then turn it up again when the number is being dialed. Very annoying.
