I have that little envelop icon at the top of my BB screen that indicates an email or text message and I can't get it to go away. I've searched each folder and i have nothing new, I've turned the BB off and on it the icon is still there. Any idea how to remove it?

Goto message folder and hit menu>View Saved Messages (is it there?)

No messages there. i also tried "view folder" on the menu options and checked all 8 folders - browser messages, missed calls, MMS inbox, MMS outbox, phone calls, SMS inbox, SMS outbox, WAP push messages... all empty.

Wait. Have you tried a hard reset? Battery pull while the device is on?
