Default Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2003 mailbox move

Please Login to Remove!

We've replaced our old 2003 Exchange box with new hardware and installed Exchange 2003. We've copied all mail boxes accross and all works fine.

We have however lost connection with our two Blackberry handset via our BES which are no longer receiving email..

We are running old Blackberry manager Version 4.0.0.116

I've spoke to vodafone support who have now run out of ideas.

So far i have:

Edit the Mapi Profile with the new server name. The BES finds our new Exchange server and mailbox immediately with no problem.

I've ran the -u switch from from a command prompt in C:\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server\Utility

I've deleted all folders under profiles in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles\

I've restarted the services and rebooted the box when nesassary.

I've checked that cdo.dll and mapi32.dii are the same versions on exchange and on the BES - cdo.dll is version 6.5.7651.61 on both servers and mapi32.dll is version 6.5.7638.1 on both servers.

The last thing Vodafone have asked me to try is wipe one of the handsets and delete the user from Blackberry Manager. Then create a new User and activate the blackberry handset. I have done this and the new user created fine within blackberry manager and the status of the user in Blackberry Manager is showing running but policy status say Received ? The Blakberry handset is stuck on Activating .. and has been like that ever since.

Vodafone then transfered me to someone who had no clue what i was trying to achieve.

Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Many thanks, Kind regards.

How many users do you have total that are working on the new Exchange 2003 box?

Are you running Exchange 2003 SP2? If so, BES 4.0.0 does not support SP2, only BES 4.0.4 and higher supports that version of Exchange.

How were the mailboxes moved? Do you see any errors for those users in the MAGT log?

What happens when you run IEMSTest for those users?

Default Issue resolved !

Found i couldn't open a users mail box using the blackbery account via a desktop so found this on persmissions.

blackberry.com/btsc/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB02 276&sliceId=SAL_Public&dialogID=178932898&stateId= 0%200%2087258522[/url]

I followed the steps for 2003 server and the blackberrys jumped in to life !

Issue sorted !

Thank you.
