Maybe some of you who know can answer this. I love my Storm but wonder about the lack of a few features. If in one week we found that it would be incredibly useful to have such things like standby, tab key, vibe and ring, etc., then how do they (RIM) not see it. Do they not have focus groups or product testers to point these obvious things out? Features like these which would really enhance the overall experience of the phone don't seem like they would be too hard to have. Again, I love the phone, just wondering.

I was thinking the same thing. Did they not have any beta testers? Any idiots could have figure out all those problems. They did a half-ass job with the phone especially when they built such high expectations!

Just in order to avoid misunderstandings: So is it true that the Storm does not support entering standby mode just like I do with my Pearl my pressing mute for 1 to 2 seconds?

Does standby mode not exist anymore at all? Surprising.

No there is a seperate button for this on the top left corner.

Okay, thank you! I thought this key would only lock all other keys and the touchscreen. But I did not assume it would also force the Storm to enter the less-energy-consuming standby mode.

The Storm manual I found on BlackBerry.com does not mention the word "standby" at all. Weird!?

I think right now RIM developers are working their asses off to fix all the bugs first, then down the road will work on adding/tweaking features. If this is the case, I'd be happy.
