I go into Sounds. My Active profile is Normal.

I go into Set Ring Tones/Alerts. I set everything in there to Volume/Sound in Holster: No, except one or two things under Other, where the Volume is set to Silent.

Yet I still get noises when I, for example, receive an email while my phone is in the holster. It happens (vibrate first, then chime) for email received via BIS and email received via BES. It also vibrates first then starts ringing if I get a phone call.

I did a battery pull and then verified the above 2 paragraphs.

I have no Contact Alerts configured. I have no Custom Profiles.

So, what does the stuff under Sounds/Set Ring Tones actually do??

My phone is a 9530 on Verizon, with OS v4.7.0.83.

Did u check if the options are enabled on the bottom Otions...... For example, messages, instant messages, ect......?

I had this problem too so i made a custom profile. I just went through and made sure all my tones were correct and now it works great!
