Default Having difficultly connecting to data

Please Login to Remove!

I'm new to BlackBerrys and I'm having difficulty setting up data on my bold so I was hoping I could get a little help.

First off, I live in Toronto and use Rogers Wireless as my service provider.

Currently I have been unable to receive data either though wi-fi or the network.

Problem 1: My wi-fi network is type-n. I have not been able to find any documentation that the bold does not support type-n networks but my inability to connect to it makes me suspect that it does not (we had this issue with other devices). Can anyone confirm this?

Problem 2: I have been unable to get a 3G data signal in my primary location. (the signal is listed as 3g which I gather means no data). More disturbingly I'm also not getting an EDGE signal. My husband's IPhone has no problem getting an EDGE signal even with 3G is unavailable. I have tried setting my Network Mode to both "3G&2G" and "2G", the result didn't differ. Any further suggestions would be appreciated.

Unless Rogers has messed up again I do. When I first got the phone from the I did not (e-mail only) but I have called and sorted that out. The error message has changed too from a message saying data was not available on this phone to saying data was not available in this area.

Well, if your signal status says '3g' and not '3G', that means that there is data available in the area, but your device is not connecting to the data network. Do you have Data Services turned ON? Options > Mobile Network.
