I have an 8820 and recently upgraded to OS 4.5

I have searches set up in messages to seperate my work and home email so that I type Alt W and just get messages for my corporate email inbox, Alt H and I get messages for my home email inbox.

The home search no longer works after upgrading to OS 4.5 (it worked perfect with 4.22). My search is set up as follows;

Type: Local
In: Any address field
Subject: <blank>
Message: <blank>
Include encrypted messages: Yes
Service: <my home email account>
Folder: All folders
Show: Received only
type: All

All I get is a blank list when I do this search (there are messages there). This search works fine for my corporate emails (as I change the Service field to Desktop and the Folder to Inbox).

I'm guessing the problem is with the Folders field. When I try and change the folders field I only see my corporate email folders (and MMS, SMS, etc.).

Any ideas on how to get this working again?

Have you tried pulling the battery out for about 30 seconds (while the device is still powered on)?

Yes, I have tried a battery pull and have the same problem

Have you resent your service books since upgrading to 4.5?

No I had not resent the service books, but I just resent them and the home search is still not working.

That is interesting.

Try sending yourself a new message with a keyword that you can search for. See if it will find that message now that the service books were sent.

That works, and in looking at it I figured it out (and of course it is dumb user error).

When I was saving the search I was putting an entry in the Title field AND name field (so it was searching for that name). Soon as I blanked out the name field, it started working.

Make sure the "Type: Remote" is set, search the server. "Local" will just search your BB device.

But it's working for you so nevermind
