Default Phone Becoming Un-responsive and Hyper-responsive

Please Login to Remove!

In the last few months my phone has been becoming more and more unresponsive. For example, when I try to hang up a call, I have to hit the end key several times before it hangs up. Other times, it becomes overly responsive. For example when I hit the star key to engage the lock, it registers that I hit the star key 3-4 times instead of the one time that I pressed it.

Could this be due to dirt or dust getting inside the phone? I have reset the phone several times by turning it off and taking out the battery, but the problem persists. Was the phone designed to break down after a year or so to make me buy a new phone? That is what it seems like. I have taken very good care of the phone. I never dropped it and I always carry it in the case it came with (something I never did before). Any ideas.

One possible issue could be that your phone is running out of working memory, so it takes a long time to process data. You could go into your Options|Status to see what your memory is (I believe, don't remember where to see that info on the Pearl).

Wirelessly posted

I believe that should give you good performance. I've heard 15-20mb is great performance, but I guess it differs from device to device.

Not sure what to tell you then.
