Hi all!
I'm running Exchange 2007 and I do not have BES. I have a user who just got her own personal brand new BB. She just told me that she's able to get her email on her BB through her Exchange account. I did some google'ing and found that BB is capable of using OWA. So I disabled OWA on her account, and she's still able to send/receive email on the BB.

Currently active on her account are MAPI and Outlook Anywhere. That's it! No POP3, no IMAP, etc.

So how is this working? Can the new BB's get email through Outlook Anywhere??

Is there a plugin or application that can be installed directly on the BB that will allow this? Nothing has been installed on the server side.

Have her delete the account from her BB. I'm about 99% sure she won't be able to re-add it.

How would it have worked in the first place?

How about this: we have Outlook Anywhere enabled (RPC over HTTPS). Are there any 3rd party services out there that, given the url to the Exchange front-end server and a set of user credentials, could login via Outlook Anywhere and download a users email box, then forward it to the BB?

In other words, a 3rd party service that acts as a conduit between the Outlook Anywhere server and the BB?

You said OWA used to be enabled. That's how it worked at first.

There's no other way to do it, so try what I said.
