Hello, i have problem with my blackberry bold 9700. My middle navigation button has stopped working, trackpad and normal button, both.

I tried to replace it with new one, but still doesnt work, i also updated sotfware to newest, still nothing. Sometimes it works for some time, but then again it stops... Any idea on what could it be and what would be the cost for fixing it?

Did you drop the device or get it wet? Sounds like water damage.

The phone has been dropped down a few times, and there has been a drop or 2 of water spill, but i took it apart and everything seems to be in order, also no corrosion or something like that is visible. Could that still be the problem? And the solution for this is new logic board?

Thanks for honest admission about the drops and water. Most people say "nothing happened".

Software doesn't fix hardware.

Unfortunately, either could be a serious problem. Regardless of how it "looks", problems could be deep within. In other words, there could be problems not visible to the eye.

Best to bring it to a repair center if possible.

Ok thanks a lot. And usually they have to replace the entire logic board or they change a chip or something so that it doesnt cost like a new phone?
