when i receive text msg's from certain contacts, instead of showing the name it displays only their phone number. well, all three contacts i'm experiencing this with are in my myFaves, so i'm guessing that's the cause.

can anyone else confirm or refute this?

this is also happening to me and a number of people. I started a couple threads on howardforums to see if anyone could help...no resolution yet but it is def rather frustrating.

c'mon guys theres gotta be someone out there that knows blackberry well enough that they can come up with a fix or an idea

I have the same issue. Drives me nuts as I don't know everybody's phone number off hand. Next question is now that I unlocked my Pearl and moved over to Cingular, how the heck do I update MyFaves when they release an update

MyFaves is a T-Mobile service. You can't use it with Cingular.

I knew that!! I use it as a speed dial/SMS client on Cingular.

UPDATE: I spoke with T-Mobile and then with BlackBerry. They are working together to build an update that will resolve the issue with the myFaves and name resolution when receiving a text message. They said it will be fixed with the next update that T-Mobile puts out.

The problem is that T-Mo is reeeeeeealy slow with updates. Until then I guess we are just stuck recognizing the number when we get a txt from a fav.
