when the 8100 comes out if you already have a plan and add a line do you still get the discount and does anyone know how much their data plan costs thanks

Additional line is $9.95/mon (before taxes and other abusive charges), you should be eligible for any handset discounts offered, and if BIS is ok for you, the BB plan is 29.99/mo (also before everyone else gets their palm greased)

excuse my stupidity but what is bis and do you think that i can buy an unlocked one and just use the data with prepaid, if i do decide to just add a line will i have to extend my contract

BIS is Blackberry Internet Service (as opposed to company exchange server mail). Cingular doesn't sell unlocked phones, but you can probably buy something on eBay or somewhere else.
