Hi guys,

Have just got the new pearl.. and was wondering that is there a way in blackberry where you dont want to use the BES or any of the email services and just use normal GPRS and MMS services?

My current phone provider (telstra) is telling me that i have to sign up on a data plan in order to use GPRS for on my BB pearl... which is quite expensive ($40 AUS /mon)

IS there a way in BB where u can bypass the email utilities and BES, and just use the normal GPRS service which i had before anyways on my old nokia n70?

Sorry No, You have to get a data plan to used GPRS and MMS on the Blackberry as it doesn't work like any other phone

Yes You can... the BB BROWSER WONT WORK.... BUT OPERA MINI WILL work..

just make sure that you get your APN settings right in the first place...

in TCP settings..

So you have answered your own question. You can use Opera Mini. But no MMS and no other data.
