Searched the forums and couldn't find a problem quite like this. After a long wedding dance, my blackberry 8830 seems to be working fine except for one major problem: when I press the trackball, it's like I'm pressing the letter Q and quicknote opens and then subsequent clicks of the trackball and it types the letter q. Now I can't select anything! My worry free guarantee is almost up with VZW in the next couple of days. Is there a fix to this? Did something get programmed on the phone to make the trackball do this? Should I just take it back? I have tried the batter pull, and have messed around with a ton of the options but can't find a fix.

Also, if I do end up turning the unit in to VZW, should I take my sheildzone cover off? If so, are there any tricks to getting those to come off nicely?

I'm taking off out of the country on wednesday and won't be back before the end of the worry free guarantee, so I appreciate any timely responses and thanks in advance for the help!

Return it for a new one - its defective. They shouldn't give you a problem.

Ditto. At least uninstall QuickNote to see if the issue remains.
